Stampin' Up! Classic Stampin' Pad Update

Important changes are coming to the Stampin' Up! ink pads.

The current ink pad case is changing - The current case's manufacturing mold was about to expire and Stampin' Up! had to decide if they wanted to order more of the same molds, or try to improve the design.  They chose to improve it!

What's better about the new case? - Using research and focus group research, Stampin' Up! discovered a few things that could improve the design of the current Classic Stampin' UP! ink pad case.

Stampin' Up! wanted the new case to-

  •  Be less confusing to open.  Opening the new ink pad case is now more simple, just insert your thumb in the "lip" at the front of the case and lift to open.
  •  Have a tighter fit between the lid and the base.  With the new design, the lid doesn't accidentally become disconnected which was a common  problem.
  • Be stackable.  The ability to stack the cases makes them easier to store and transport.  The new cases are designed with a nub in each bottom corner that fits nicely into the "dimple" on the top of another case.
  • Include improved labels and stickers.  Redesigned the front label with a cleaner, bolder design and larger color swatch, making it easier to see the ink's color.  Included a new In Color icon.  Providing a new color sticker you can place on the inside of the pad, so you can easily distinguish the ink's color when the case is open.  No more stamping the wrong color ink!

Is the ink different? - Since they were improving the case, Stampin' Up! decided to make improvement to the ink as well.  They added a defoamer to the ink ingredients because they noticed that the current ink would sometimes bubble, especially on new pad and lighter colors.  The added defoamer will reduce ink bubbles, help you get an even coating of ink on the stamp and help the stamped image have a smoother, solid look.  Another change is that Archival ink will no longer be part of the ink offering.

Will the price change? - Yes, there will be a price increase with the updated Classic Stampin' Pads.  The US price will be $7.50.

Will the updated pads fit in the Color Caddy?  - Yes, they will fit into the Color Caddy, just not as tightly as the previous ink pad style.  If you store the updated pads in your caddy, you'll want to be careful when rotating the caddy and turn too fast.

As you can imagine, there are a lot of details regarding the roll out of the updated Classic Stampin' pads and it can get a little complicated.  I will post updates as they become available.

Stampin' Up! Color Revamp

It's been over five years since Stampin' Up! has freshened up the color palette, so it's time for a color revamp!

I'm super excited to have updated, trendy colors. There are still four color collections and an added basics with black, white and vanilla colors. There will still be ten In Colors too.

Retiring Core Colors

There will be 13 core colors retiring-Always Artichoke, Elegant Eggplant, Island Indigo, Perfect Plum, Rose Red, Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango, Tempting Turquoise, Marina Mist, Pink Pirouette, Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi and Wisteria Wonder

Six Returning In Colors

Stampin' Up! is keeping 27 of the current core colors

That makes 53 colors total in the new catalog that starts June 1st

The ink refills and card stock notoriously sell out quickly, so place your order on-line today before the ones your love sell out. You can shop 24/7 in my on-line store

Stampin' Up! is also updating our ink pad cases. We will still have the awesome foam pad but the case is being streamlined.  The updated case is thinner and includes a hinge that won't accidentally come off.  The case still flips and stores the ink upside down.

I will share more about the pads when they become available
